(Concert Review) Treasure shines in Washington, D.C on their 2025 First U.S Tour (Special Moment)
Treasure is a 10 member K-pop group based in South Korea under record label, YG Entertainment. Featuring the members, Choi Hyunsuk, Jihoon, Yoshi, Junkyu, Yoon Jaehyuk, Asahi, Haruto, Doyoung, Park Jeongwoo, and So Junghwan. They have started their first 4-city tour in the United States called the “2025 First US Tour (Special Moment)”. Their 2nd tour date was in Washington, D.C on April 8th, 2025 at The Theater at MGM National Harbor.
Treasure began their show with their most popular song called “Jik Jin”. It is a fan favorite in the Kpop community and to their beloved fans dearly called “Teume” which stands for Treasure Maker. Jik Jin is a high energy, powerful and fun song. Their choreography was filled was intensity and soul. The crowd would be standing up and cheering for the members for the remainder of the show, there were barely any breaks during the concert. It was impressive how Treasure just keep performing purely off their talent and endurance after full choreographies and crystal clear singing with stable vocals.
The crowd in Washington, D.C made sure to give that energy right back to Treasure ten-fold,. Tenume made sure Treasure knew how much they loved them. Something that I personally love seeing at Kpop concerts is when there is a live band playing their songs. Treasure’s live band enhanced their songs to an entirely new level. I could not help but dance when I heard the live guitar and drums.
“Thank You” is a song by Treasure members, Asahi and Harutu. When I heard this unique song in D.C that night, I thought “I have never heard anything like this before". Asahi started the song with Japanese pop punk inspired vocals. He carried the song with strong, powerful and uplifting notes that reminded me of an anime opening. I was really surprised when Haruto came on stage rapping. I had never heard a song that combined Japanese pop with melodic rapping. Haruto’s rapping made the song stand out from others in the Japanese pop punk genre. It also influenced the passion of the song. I loved when they started running across the stage this provided more passion to an already amazing performance. They do a great job at sharing the stage. When it was time for the other to sing it looked like the other supported him the whole way through.
Their latest song “King-Kong” was a song that has been on my workout playlist for months so it was amazing to see how treasure translated an already powerful song into a live setting. I think they really utilize their rappers and vocalists. Both groups have a role in providing for a diverse team. Treasure’s song “Bona Bona” had a fun vibe like many of the other songs on this setlist. It’s energetic beat and compelling vocals make it a great listen. Overall Treasure’s choreo makes great use of their large group size (10 members). I especially enjoyed when they made a heart beat out of their members.
Teume makes the members of Treasure shine brightly like diamonds in the night. Across the crowd there were a sea of blue light sticks shaped like diamonds. Teume came to the concert mainly dressed in the fandom’s color which is Sky Blue.
I highly recommend taking the time to see Treasure live next time they are on tour. They truly know what it means to preform and have fun while doing it. I couldn’t stop dancing and singing along during the show and the crowd was doing the same. Treasure truly represents what it means to have pure confidence, fun and good energy with their music and during their performance. If you want these positive traits in your life even if only for just one night, a Treasure concert is where you need to be.
